dubious-audio is a new record label based in Sheffield and London. It was started by Jethro Bagust and Rowan Porteous (Superimpozer) as a way of showcasing their work and trying to do the same for others.

We have no specific agenda for what we want to release, but we are trying to provide an outlet for musicians doing interesting things outside the “mainstream”, whatever that is supposed to be. We are interested in music that fits in the cracks between established genres and which does not neccesarily fit in with a purely commercial way of looking at life.

We have been running various nights of electronica and strange Jazziness but we are now having to look for new venues due to to pernicious licensing laws. We are always looking for new artists and are interested in expanding stylistically.

Our first release, Superimpozer's 'Thought Fungus' album, is now available to buy from this site, and you can also check out the mp3's in the music section. They are quite good.
